Life’s Travesty
If we were willing we could be so much more; and that is the travesty of life. To fall into the trap of mediocrity when our dreams are within reach. To fail due to lack of effort when a little bit of work is all that’s needed. To get scared and turn back to the familiar just before reaching our destination. To be beat because we never tried rather than we took the risk and fell short. To put our dreams off as if our time will go on forever, just before our time runs out…
…and the worst part is the children watch this travesty. No matter how much we encourage them to pursue their dreams, what they see are us, their role models, the people they look up to wasting their gifts away. Our actions become their expectations and their norm. Our failures become their failures because we’re teaching them that this is what life is.
Why should you pursue your dreams? Because tomorrow depends on it.
To Achieve Your Dreams
To achieve your dreams, you have to transform yourself from a fearful soul regurgitating biblical verse such as “With God, all things are possible” and into a fearless being who believes; with every single bone in your body, every membrane and nerve of your brain, every blood cell flowing through your veins, every breath from your mouth and beat of your heart, that with God, not only are your dreams possible – they are probable. In fact, they are inevitable.
38 Years
Hello dreams, I know we’ve had an up and down relationship through the years mixed in with some trying times, but I want to thank you for staying with me through it all. When I had that nasty affair with doubt that took me to the brink of failure, you stayed by my side. When I almost ruined my life by lusting after the easy way, it was you that reminded me of who I was and helped me get back on track. When I became too afraid to move because I was paralyzed by fear, you gave me the nudge I needed to step forward. It seems like an eternity ago, when we were two unblossomed seeds meeting each other for the first time. Look at us now battle tested, resilient, and closer to one another and our destiny. Yes, 38 years of love can do that.
