Monday Morning Reflections
I’ve come to the realization that our insecurities are getting in the way of our purpose, what we were put here to do. Instead of being extraordinary human beings we waste our talent and energy trying to build images, walls, masks that prevent people from seeing us for who we truly are because we’re afraid. From the designer clothes and makeup, to the prestigious jobs and fancy cars, to the big houses and the Joneses; we are making conscious choices to be small.
One day it will all catch up to us. One day, we won’t be able to get by on our looks, our money, our titles, or our materials. One day, people will see us for who we are, and trust me it won’t be pretty. It’s time that we get comfortable living in our skin without the aid of the bionics.
What About Life?
In my opinion, these public shootings/massacres continue to happen because of how we react as a society. Everywhere we turn we’re talking about the shooter, how many people he injured, his motivation, and why would he do this and that.
I say F*CK him, lock him up, let him remain nameless, don’t tell his story, don’t show his pictures, and don’t give him the satisfaction of achieving his goal of being talked about. Instead, let’s highlight the lives of the victims of the crime. Let’s tell their story. Let’s highlight the positive aspects of their lives, how they lived, their dreams, aspirations, and what they were doing in the community.
As for the murderer? He should be nothing more than a footnote…

Colorado and Beyond
First and foremost, my prayers go out to the families in Colorado and to every other family in the world reeling from the loss of a loved one today and everyday.
That being said, I’m done. I’m done acting shocked every time a “random” act of violence happens in the United States. Violence is a part of our history, our foundation, our culture, and every part of our American fabric. Unfortunately our unwillingness to have open and honest dialog about the American condition means that these vices (drugs, violence, educational disparities, racism, sexism, etc.) will continue to prevent us from rising to the apex of our collective potential.
We have to do better.
