In a Perfect World
In a perfect world
Eye contact would be followed by
A respectful greeting
Conversation would be received
Without fear of ulterior motives
Friendships would precede relationships, and
Breakups would result in friendships
In a perfect world
Smiles would be honest
And frequent
Attitudes would be upbeat
And pleasant
Sincere compliments would replace
Resentful hate
And words,
Would be straight forward
Honest
And said with the compassion
Of love
In a perfect world
You would understand
I am not after anything you have,
God has already given me plenty;
But I am open
To learning from you
And helping us to grow.

Reminds me of John Lennon’s “Imagine”. 🙂
Sweet and thank you.
